An Exploration of the Flow Experience
Course Design and Facilitation
This series of courses are designed and facilitated by Flow Coach, DerekTate. After spending more than thirty years as a professional ski instructor and coach he studied positive psychology at Bucks New University. Derek graduated with an MSc Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP), with his area of research focused on flow experiences. Since then he has written a book on the subject ‘Learn, Enjoy, Flow & Grow’.
Who would benefit from attending these workshops?
These workshops are suitable for anyone interested in finding out about the subject of flow and how to access this optimal state. Flow experiences can be accessed to enhance one’s performance in numerous situations including sport, business, creative pursuits and any activity that requires focus and concentration.
These courses are designed to give you a full understanding of the theory and experience of ‘flow’, defined as a mental state of optimal experience.
The live online workshops are run on ZOOM and contain a mixture of presentation and discussion. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and relate the topic to their own work and leisure interests.
Each live workshop is delivered in three, one hour sessions separated with two fifteen-minute breaks.
Pre and post workshop
Participants in the course will have access to pre-workshop learning and post-workshop growth where there are downloadable PDF articles, videos and links to specific blog articles. Post workshop materials will include a summary of the material covered.
The total time commitment for the workshop is 5.5 hours.
The cost per workshop is £35
Certificate and CPD
On completion of the course, participants will receive an electronic certificate which can be used for CPD purposes.
